  • The Successful Launch of the 3rd International Culture Festival in JUFE

    In the afternoon of December 13th, the 3rd International Culture Festival, themed “It is a delight to have friends coming from afar”, was held in JUFE. Crowds of teachers and students gathered in the Jueqi Squre of Jiaoqiao campus to celebrate the opening ceremony and enjoy exotic decorations and delicious foods. The 3rd International Culture Festival was hosted by Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (OICE), co-organized by Propaganda Department, Student Affair Department, Youth League Committee, International School, Oversea Students Volunteer Group and Photography Association.

    Wang Qiao, the Chairman fo the Board and Lu Fucai, the President attended this festival, Wang Xiaoping, the vice president delivereda opening remark Besides, leaders and representative teachers of Youth league Committee, International School, Propaganda Department, School of Business Administration, School of International Trade and Economics, School of Software & Communication Engineering and School of Arts also attended the opening ceremony.



    In order to regale our teachers and students with diversified cultures and delicious foods, OICE Office, more than 90 overseas students and the Oversea Students Volunteer Group had prepared for nearly two months. Thank for their efforts, on Dec. 3rd, the center stage and 20 booths were set up at Jueqi Square. Overseas students dressed up with colorful national costumes and showed specially-prepared performances, foods and peculiar drawings. Apart from that, the various Chinese elements featured with “Chinese Red” , mascot panda, art of tea, calligraphy, Zheng (Chinese zither) and Han Chinese clothing not only won good comments from the audiences, but also showed the extensive and profound Chinese cultures to our friends from all over the world.

    The audiences included not only Chinese and foreign teachers and students in JUFE, but also many Chinese and foreign students from other universities in Nanchang. Our overseas students interacted with audiences with great passion through performing and taking photos together, serving as communicative bridges between China and foreign countries to show the charm of their countries. Overeas students also established good relations with each other and opened horizons through this activities. At 5:30 pm, the festival was ended in joyful songs and dances.

    “It’s really amazing to watch suchpretty dancing and singing, to have delicious foods. Overseas students are so considerate that preparing so many delicate foods and souvenirs. Actually this is the third time I have been a part of the International Culture Festival. I can tell that the festival really becomes better and better and I am so looking forward to participate in next year”, said a student in the festival.



    In recent years, the number of oversea students in JUFE has grown larger and larger. In order to strengthen the communication between Chinese and foreign teachers and students in culture and language, and create an international education environment, OICE Office has shaped the international culture festival into an excellent activity. Overseas students live and study in JUFE and are so proud of being a member of JUFE. Under the guidance of university motto and sense of ownership, they join all campus activities with great passions and make contributions to JUFE’s internationalization. Following the two previous international culture festivals, this festival aims at providing a platform for oversea students from more than 60 countries to show themselves, and introducing cultures from countries all over the world into university so that students from different countries could communicate with each other directly. Now the International Culture Festival has become a special activity and a culture label of JUFE.
